Carmen, the most popular opera of all time, will be at the Scottish Rite Theatre August 6th. This love story of a mesmerizing, sensual gypsy has been captivating audiences for years, and now it’s coming to Peoria! The opera will be performed by central Illinois opera company, MIOpera.
MIOpera started in 2011 as a program for young artists. The company worked to bridge the gap between operatic training and professional level performances. As time went by, the vision for MIOpera grew. Today, MIOpera creates a wide range of programming for the community including opera, operetta, classical musical theatre, and other concerts!
